Photo Display on the Map: metadata analysis, route building based on photos, retrieving addresses, and much more

Photo Map is a service where you can upload your photos and see them all on the map. For each photo, the location and time of shooting, altitude, camera model, and other metadata will be shown.

Important: all processing happens entirely in your browser – no data is sent anywhere!

Supported file formats are JPEG and HEIC.

Clicking on a map marker will show a thumbnail of the photo, the file name, and key metadata.

A table with information about each file will also be created.

You can sort and filter the files in the table by all main fields, such as photo date, coordinates, altitude, and other metadata. Note: for altitude filters, you can use less than, greater than, equal, and some other operators.

Hovering over a file will highlight its marker on the map.

Clicking on a file in the table will expand its marker on the map.

Clicking on a marker on the map will expand it and show the corresponding entry in the table.

In addition to the interactive map, there is a route planner for analysis:

  • Simple route (photos on the map are connected in the order they were taken)
  • Direction of movement (photos are connected in the order they were taken with movement direction indicated)
  • Altitude (connecting lines are color-coded by elevation)
  • Speed (route color indicates the time between photo shots)
  • Ascent (photos are connected in order of altitude — useful for landscape analysis)

If you want to save the map with your photo geotags, you can do so! You can save not only all the data but also small copies of the images – everything is saved in a single file.

Later, you can import this file and you will get all the markers on the map and all table entries you saw before.

You can share information about the map markers and metadata without sharing the actual photos – to do this, choose “Export without preview”.
